On behalf of the entire Executive of the
Goulbourn Basketball Association, it is with great pleasure, I
welcome you to the GBA web site.
Our web site has recently been updated
and many new features added – on-line registration, representative
and recreational team schedules and an up-to-date news and
information section. In addition, the site will feature regular
newsletters and team feature stories, along with detailed
information about our programs and contact information.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for
please let us know.
Since 1988 the GBA has worked to promote and grow basketball in the
community, support player development and provide a positive
experience for players, parents and volunteers. As we begin our 19th
season - and my first as president – I believe we have been
successful in achieving our goals and I’m committed to continuing
this work and see a bright future for the association.
This season we will have more than 500 children from 5 to
18-years-old participating on about 40 teams in our representative
and recreational programs – certainly we’ve come a long way since
those formative years where the GBA consisted of three teams!
None of this would be possible without the many volunteers and
sponsors who support the GBA.
I would like to personally extend a special thanks to our sponsors -
TD Canada Trust, Coldwell Banker, Dave Benn Insurance Brokers,
Pretty Pots and the Ontario Trillium Foundation - and the members of
our executive, coaches and team managers who devote countless hours
to grow basketball in the Goulbourn community. It is through their
commitment and expertise that the GBA has been and will continue to
be so successful.
In closing, I wish you all the best in the 2007-08 basketball season
and encourage you to come out support our teams as they strive for
success.
