In the Friday evening draw versus the Barrhaven Blue devils, the Stingers started slow and found themselves down 13 - 7 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the stingers put up a strong zone defence that limited the Blue devils to 2 points. At the half the Stingers led 16 - 15 in a tight match. The second half was quite exciting with the lead changing between the two teams several times. In the end the Stingers came out victorious with a 36 - 35 win. Molly Kennedy scored 10 points and was named the game MVP.

On the Saturday afternoon, the Stingers took on the Naismith team in their second game of round robin action. The Stingers started strong and got an early lead. A strong team effort allowed the Stingers to build on their lead throughout the game and finish strong with a score of 39 - 25. Kaitlyn Young was a strong defensive presence and was named the game MVP.

Saturday evening the Stingers met the Toronto Road Runners. The Road Runners lived up to their team name as they were all extremely athletic and quick on their feet. The Stingers played hard and led at half time by 5 points. The second half saw the Road Runners heat up and hit four 3 point shots. The Stingers continued to battle, but in the end lost 48 - 38.

The two victories guaranteed the Stingers an opportunity to play in the medal round on Sunday.

Sunday morning the Stingers took on the pre-tournament favourites, the Ottawa Celtics. The Celtics had not lost this season and had swept their pool in preliminary play. The Stingers came out a bit flat and found themselves down early. They played hard, but the strong Celtics team prevailed, which left the Stingers to play in the Sunday afternoon game against the team from Bracebridge.

On Sunday afternoon, the Stingers met the Bracebridge team for the tournament 3rd place bronze medal. At halftime the Stingers held a comfortable 19 - 8 lead. In the final quarter the Bracebridge team closed to within one point of the Stingers. Down the stretch key foul shots by Bri-Ann Nystedt and a three pointer from Kelsey Fauteux gave the Stingers their lead back. The intensity and energy the Stingers had displayed earlier continued, with the team playing tenacious defense and defeating Bracebridge 36 - 28 to claim tournament bronze medal.

The Stingers have had a great start to their season with 7 wins and 3 losses.

The Stingers are coached by Scott Nystedt, Louis Fauteux, Kevin Kennedy and managed by Lorena-Del Nystedt.
